Alba - A Wildlife Adventure | Casual, Wholesome, Family Friendly | Even the smallest person can make a big difference. Join Alba, as she sets out to save her beautiful island and its wildlife. And possibly start a revolution. | What a simple, great experience. Notice I'm not saying game, because as game - in the sense of playing - this is barely more then a walking simulator with VERY little of Pokemon Snap like ideas. Don't get me wrong, the art design, sound design and general world building and atmosphere is TOP notch, the gameplay itself is on the downside, but that is not a killer feature here. It's a very wholesome story / experience that you can play with your significant other watching - or the other way around -, or give it to your kid, which is even better. Rather short, about 3 - 4 hours to 100% the game, and the game has 0 replayability, so take that into consideration when calculating your € / hour. Still, an easy recommendation if you enjoy a relaxed, lay back game, where you can just enjoy the atmosphere and world building and not having to worry about QTE, builds, progression and such stuff. | 06/2024 |

Carrion | Villain Protagonist, Action, Metroidvania | A reverse horror game in which you assume the role of an amorphous creature of unknown origins, stalking and consuming those that imprisoned you. | What a nice reverse-horror game. Have you ever “fantasied” about being the monster in the Horror Film? Well, search no longer! In this rather quick (4-8 hours) game you will be just that! Starting from escaping the lab where those puny humans tried to control and study you, recovering all your abilities and eventually being free. Very nice atmosphere, good (even if simplistic) gameplay, nice sound design, and overall a good and short (in a good way, the mechanics would get old if the game was much longer) experience about being the monster instead of containing / fighting the monster. Easy to recommend if you enjoy the type of game. | 12/2023 |

Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines | ||||
Cult of the Lamb | ||||
Deadlight | ||||
Destroy All Humans | Villain Protagonist, Action, Third Person, Sci-fi, Remake | The cult-classic returns! Terrorize the people of 1950's Earth in the role of the evil alien Crypto-137. Harvest their DNA and bring down the US government in the faithful remake of the legendary alien invasion action adventure. Annihilate puny humans using an assortment of alien weaponry and psychic abilities. | A very very nice remake / remaster. Between the graphics, control and audio bumps, the game just feels amazing playing thought. Not only that, it's not full with pointless “fluff” just to increase the playtime. You get in, you get the game mechanics rather quickly and you just have a blast, well, Destroying all Humans. The humor isn't as top notch, but that Is probably just the normal nature of things, we don't (hopefully) find fart jokes the best jokes ever written. All in all, a very fun action adventure third person shoot gamer with some very nice / funny references, very good gameplay and control, amazing updated graphics and very nice sound design. Expect about 13 to 20 hours of total gameplay, depending how much trouble you have completing all the Challenges if you go for the 100% completion. | 11/2023 |

En Garde! | Action, Action-Adventure, Beat' em up | En Garde! – the swashbuckler action game! Battle graceless guards and nefarious noblemen in fast-paced fights full of spectacle. Use the environment, your wit and your blade to teach them all a lesson! | A souls-like if souls games had training wheels for the entire duration of the game. Like Sekiro, but instead you had loving parents. Graphics, sound, gameplay, comedy, everything about the game is in the “good” realm. The only major issue is the duration, since the game has only 4 missions, and even going for 100% achievements is more of a repeat / loop gameplay then new content. Takes less then 3 hours to do the main story, about 10-20 hours to 100%. Would still recommend this game if you can grab it for a good price and / or want a very simple and easier souls-like - but satisfying - combat. | 02/2024 |
Evil Genius | ||||
Evoland | ||||
HackNet | ||||
Hong Kong Massacre, The | Action, Bullet Time, Top-Down Shooter | Blast your way through the streets of Hong Kong in a fast-paced, top-down shooter. Inspired by classic action movies, The Hong Kong Massacre places you at the center of a hard-boiled revenge story, filled with brutal, cinematic shootouts and vivid underworld locations. | A very nice, “Hotline Miami”-like, gun focused, Matrix-styled, top down, bullet-hell, shooter. Very much worth to get and to play though. The story is rather skippable / nothing that will blow your mind, but the gameplay is amazing. Quick replayability for when you die, and you can make it as hard or as easy as you want do to the “Bullet Time” a.k.a. slow motion style. Feel like a bad-ass gunslinger that can clear an entire army with your top pistol skills. About 4 hours to play though, about 8-12 to 100%, depending how good or bad you can exploit, I mean, use, the mechanics available to you. An easy recommendation. | 05/2024 |

Plague Tale: Innocence (A) | Story Rich, Adventure, Medieval | Follow the grim tale of young Amicia and her little brother Hugo, in a heartrending journey through the darkest hours of history. | A bit of a harder one to review. So, if you are looking for a “good game” in sense of gameplay, just skip this one. The gameplay and gameplay mechanics is as basic as you can get for the release year. The logic breaks a lot as well when going between gameplay and the game / story itself, so you might have to suspend your suspension of disbelief quite often depending how much you notice it. The game world rules - eg: invisible walls - aren't also the best to keep it mildly. With that being said, graphics and sound design wise, is very up there and easy to recommend. The story has it's flaws, mainly in some points connecting the “A happened because of B”, mainly in very specific tension points between some caracthers. With that said, would still recommend, mainly for someone who isn't the most “hardc0re pr0 gam3r” and can enjoy a story without a very deep gameplay focused game on itself. About 14-18 hours to play though, including the 100% achievement target. | 06/2024 |

Rampage Knights | ||||
Riptide GP: Renegade | Racing, Multiplayer, Local Multiplayer, Arcade, Split Screen | Experience a future of illicit hydrojet racing, where armored riders kick out death-defying stunts over massive waterfalls, dodge cops, and boost across surging waves. Unlock new vehicles, characters, and customization features as you take down bosses and build your crew in Career mode. | A very nice arcade - water - racing game. Split Screen, Online Play, Single Player Career, everything is there to play a very nice arcade-like water racing game that you can play while hearing your podcast or keeping up with the news, but at the same time, interesting enough that you can play it as a main focus. Not the most mechanically depth game, but everything else - sound, gameplay, design - is just there. Story is very much skipable. About 13 - 18 hours of gameplay for 100% achievements, a lot more if you play with a friend in split screen / online. An easy recommendation if you enjoy arcade race games in general. | 06/2024 |
RoboCop: Rogue City | FPS, Action, Shooter, RPG, Cyberpunk | Become the legendary part man, part machine, all cop hero and deliver justice in Old Detroit. | This is an easy recommendation. Now, depending if you enjoyed RoboCop the Movie and have “nostalgia” or whatever you want to call it, this will be either a “good game” or an “above average”. if you have nostalgia for the Movie and what not, then this might even be a “very good game”: a lot of easter eggs and movie references, amazing sound design, original RoboCop Voice Actor, top notch violence, the gameplay feels like you are actually playing RoboCop. If you don't have nostalgia, the above still applies, as well as all the quick inserted ethical and moral questions - which are just 1 or 2 sentences and then never touched again -, the 80-90s humor, the dystopian visions and ideas about a “unchecked capitalism” and so on, BUT it might not be enough to make you enjoy the game that much. If you saw the movie, this will feel “just like home”, if not, you might linger for more development, more character development, more exposition and exploration of said ideas and feel like some dialogues, quests and situations are just badly done - which don't get me wrong, they are, but they feel just like the type of humor and delivery from the movie period -. With that said, the shooting / gameplay mechanics are not anything special, nothing pratically new, so as a FPS, the game is just very lacking. Same in the other departments, be it “detective” or any other “puzzle” like elements. The only major downside of the game, imho, is the lack of manual saves, you are bond to the - sometimes very much apart from one another - checkpoint system. About 20 hours for a run while checking every nook and spot, about 8 hours for the main story only. So, an easy recommendation, but this game will either be “an amazing homage to the original” or “an average FPS” depending on how much other media knowledge and “nostalgia” you have. | 05/2024 |

Startup Company | ||||
Trek to Yomi | Hack and Slash, 2D, Swordplay, Combat | As a vow to his dying Master, the young swordsman Hiroki is sworn to protect his town and the people he loves against all threats. Faced with tragedy and bound to duty, the lone samurai must voyage beyond life and death to confront himself and decide his path forward. | This is one of those games that while I will recommend, this is not a recommendation for everyone, and you should really consider the price for what you getting. So, the game is visually amazing. The story itself is nice and the “multiple endings” add a bit of variety to it but not that much. But boy, is the combat system repetitive. Once you unlock the finisher of Up + Light - Light - Light - Heavy you have seen everything there is to see for your own worthfull skills. The enemies don't have the same rules of engagement as you, so between reloading canon shots in sub 2 seconds or infinite combos, it can become frustrating from time to time. Doing 100% achievements isn't “ideal” per say, as in, for a few achievements you basically have one shot / no way to go back to a previous chapter, so you might as well just save scum when going for 100%, specifically in 2-3 achievements. Expect about 4-6 hours for 1 playthough, 8-12 hours for 100%. All in all, still very recommended much recommended if you buy it for a good price due to the visuals alone. | 11/2023 |
