- Leadership is not just about holding a position; it's about influencing others.
The 5 Levels of Leadership :
- Level 1: Position: Leadership based on title. People follow because they have to.
- Level 2: Permission: Leadership based on relationships. People follow because they want to.
- Level 3: Production: Leadership based on results. People follow because of what the leader has done for the organization.
- Level 4: People Development: Leadership based on developing others. People follow because of what the leader has done for them personally.
- Level 5: Pinnacle: The highest level, where leaders develop other leaders who can themselves create leaders. This level is about who the leader is and what they represent.
Ten Insights on Leadership :
- Leadership levels build upon each other.
- Leadership is dynamic and can vary with different team members.
- Moving up requires growth; moving down can happen quickly.
- Each level requires more time and effort than the previous one.
- You cannot climb the leadership levels alone.
